    Is there a way to replace closet bolt without removing the toilet?

    I had the same problem and spent an hour trying to get the bolt head to catch under the flange. I had a plumber in who had the magic touch: success in ten minutes! No need to pull the stool! (I always use solid brass hardware to eliminate rust.)
