(late reply) I've never noticed a ton coming out of mine but I haven't really looked that closely. If you take the cover off, you can see where the pan is underneath the coil. I suppose it's small enough that you'd never see as much as you do from an A/C coil.

We have a DWV kitchen sink drain pipe that runs above/near metal HVAC duct work below it. In the basement room below the kitchen, whenever water is draining through the pipe, the duct work has kind of a popping sound. It's similar to the (normal) sound the duct work makes when the furnace stops...
