What are the requirements for backflow prevention for a frost-free yard hydrant teed off the main water line from a well? The house is 350' away from the well and 10' higher. The hydrant will be somewhere in between. I'm planning on having a CSV125 in the well, and no check valve between the CSV125 and the tank in the house. The well pump will have a check valve. I'm hoping to use a hydrant with a built-in hose backflow preventer like a Woodford Y2. Would I need an additional valve of some sort to protect against backflow through the frost-free drain? I'm hoping that I don't need to get a "sanitary frost-free", since they're extremely expensive.

Check your local code book and then ask the HJA in your area.
