I have seen lots of wireless garbage disposal switches available and was wondering if there anything against code to use one of these. I am adding a disposal, but do not want to have a switch in the countertop or under the sink. I thought the wireless ones would be a good alternative.

I can't think of any reason why a wireless would be against code. We installed wireless switches to control the recirc pump.

But we sometimes also install the air switch button in the cabinet.

I would want a conventional switch in series with the RF switch, or open the breaker before sticking your hand in there.

we can un plug the disposal very very rarely are disposals and dishashers hardwired they just plug in the wall in case of a normal disposal they have a normal wall switch usually. good point about putting your hand inside the disposal embarrasingly I thought about it but put my hand in all the time
