Depending on how hot the tank is set for and who might be using the hot water, a mixing valve might be appropriate.

I've got my heater set at 140 and keep telling myself to add the mixing valve. One of these days I'll do it. Really...

Rheem power vent

The Rheem power vent is a BIG BOY....

and I have found them to be a pain in the neck
if you have a tight spot....

the last one I installed I had troubles with the
thermostat "chattering" makeing a loud chattering noise...

I had to go get another thromostat but never got a cent
for any kind of service or labor re-imbursment

also I noticed when I installed the heater it actually
came with a Bradford white fan and motor

so after makeing an extra trip out "for free" to change the defective t stat gas valve, I was not too impressed.

maybe you will have better luck but I stick
witht he Bradfords...
