Working on drain for new construction bathtub. I’m in Louisiana and use 2015 IPC. From what I’ve read in the codes, I cannot use slip joints unless I have an access panel, which I cannot due to shower right behind tub.
I have everything glued up from 2” trap to Sani-t, but my overflow would have to glue in at an angle into the top of the T. Could I use 2 22 degree fittings right above the T to allow the overflow tube to sit straight? Sorry no pic available.

Thanks everyone. Appreciate the advice. I glued everything else up, but started to hesitate on that top portion cause if it was too off after glue was on, I’d be cutting. I bought 2 22’s and will try those tonight.

The no-hub I hadn’t thought about. Good tip!

I am not a pro … what about one of these OS&B kits. They have an adjustable fitting to match the angle of the tub.

usually the foam washer at the overflow has a taper is very spongy and will work. What exactly is the problem you have a joist in way like in the video?
