shower drain too short

I am attempting to replace my shower drain from above. I am on a slab. I got the new drain glued in, don't ask me how but when I go to screw in the strainer it is maybe 1/8 inch too short. Without ripping out the entire shower, or cutting the drain pipe and starting over, is there a way to make this connection? This is a one piece fiberglass shower on a slab.

You might be able to find another strainer with a somewhat longer length of thread.
