In looking at the Gould's pump curves/tables [GS series 4" submersible pumps], there is a line entry in the table for "Shutoff PSI".

    Goulds Pumps

    Can anyone explain these values?

    Thanks

    Mark

Shut off pressure is how much pressure a pump can build against a completely closed valve.

I've always explained it as the head (resistance to flow/pressure) of the system that the pump can not deliver any more water from.
