My Scenario - Adding Second Holding Tank

I currently have one 3000gal holding tank, I got a second 2000 holding. I read how to connect the two together, but a slight issue I have is that my second one will be about 12" higher than the fist one. Does this cause a problem with connecting the two together? Here is an image of how the two are currently sitting. They are 3ft apart.

The tanks must be top level to each other. Is what I do when doing this typoe of instalallation.

You can only fill the taller tank to a level that will not be enough for the shorter tank to overflow.
