We don't use VFD's and neither does our competition so I don't own a megger but I do use my trusty Simpson 372 quite a bit. I have a friend who has a megger and the best thing I have found about it is that if there is a short when you meg it the short will go ahead and give up the ghost instead of intermittently going out.

What's a good brand that's worth the extra money or a brand that's cheaper but still gets the job done.

Franklin said that we finally need to upgrade meters on their VFD's, over 50yrs and never needed one until today.

Franklin recommend a Uei Dmeg3

If you use a true meg meter on a connected VFD, if it is not bad it may be. I good one applies 600+ volts for testing.

A digital meter will give a faults reading on a long wire. Analog is best.

The good VOM meters will read about 20 meg max. That is plenty for most use. And it applies very low voltage.

The tester they recommend for you to buy has very low ratings.

I didn't know Pentek made a 16 GPM series?
And I didn't know Franklin made a 15 GPM series?


Since you know it now, do you still think it was to big of a pump for the small tank you recommend? This was a very heavly used sprinkler system that covers alot of land and on a big house.

I am trying to drop the motor and transmission this weekend, I finally got done with all the suspension, gas tank, brakes & brake lines, and I found out someone upgraded my rear end to the 12 bolt(sweet and I replaced the gear oil). We need a Automotive repair on this forum because I have few questions on my 1970 cutlass and if my ideas would work.
