Hi! I've searched around, but haven't seen this asked so forgive me if I'm repetitive. Currently, my washing machine has to pump draining water about 5 ft and then up 3 ft before it hits the drain. The pump on my washer is tired. I could buy a new machine and wear it out or - at the suggestion of my appliance guy - have a standpipe installed. The washer is in the basement, the set up is fairly crude and I'm wondering how I might be able to put one together myself (so that the water goes up 3 ft and then over 5ft instead putting less stress on the pump). I've done some very simple pvc work before making run through sprinklers for the kids so I think I can manage the physical act of putting it all together - I'm just not sure where to start or where to find instructions.

Can you help?

Do you have a 2 inch or bigger drain pipe to hook into? If so, a photo of that and the area that the standpipe will go will let people give you better info.
