I have a 10 year old updraft furnace and I am looking to install a humidifier. My AC coil (a frame) wse installed 18" above the furnace in the plenum so that I could have good access to periodically spray it with coil cleaner. Are there any issues with installing the humidifier evaporator pad below my AC coil? The install guide makes no mention of the coil location in the plenum.

I live in Houston, Texas, so the last thing that we ever need is to add humidity to the air. I said that only to let you know where my advice is coming from. However, I don't think that installing your humidifier below the AC coil will be any problem unless you are planning on running the humidifier and the AC at the same time. In that case, the humidifier would add moisture and the AC would just take it away. Since moisture is normally added only in the heating season, you should be fine.
