My old water softener decided to not ring in the new year and took a dive on me for 2015. My conditions are 32 hardness, .4 ppm for iron, 2.5 Bathrooms, and 5 people. If my calculations are correct i would need a 2.5 cf 80 k system. I have been recommended to go with a system with a 1 inch bore port for better water flow especially during backwash. I was strongly considering the fleck proflo 5000 but have found some people having issues. Is there a legitimate issue there? Can anyone please help with any other recommendations as I plan to install on my own? My plumbing is 3/4 inch copper.
