There we go again. They require CPVC because it has physical characteristics that make it suitable for hot water and PVC has limitations that cause it to spontaneously fail so THAT is why you have to use CPVC indoors, but can use PVC outdoors. It is NOT because someone cannot determine whether a line is for hot or cold water.
