I am looking at replacing my pump with a Flotec shallow well jet pump - cast iron. Don't know if I fully trust the reviews I'm reading - anyone have any experience with this brand - good or bad? What about the same size pump in plastic? Looking at a 3/4 hp.

FloTek is a 6 letter word for junk. Buy a Goulds that will last 20 years and be done with it.

The cast Iron ones are OK, if you get one that Sears sells, You can get parts easy.

The Plastic ones are junk.

I see more problems with the cast iron ones than the plastic ones. The suction adapter rust up so bad the water cannot get into the pump. But I guess that might depend on the quality of the water?
