Eco Drake Flapper

I just replaced the original flapper in our Eco Drake with a Korky 2021BP G-Max Flapper. Although the flappers appear to be identical, the original had a plastic float on the chain above the flapper that I switched over to the new flapper. It seems to work fine.

Was the float the difference between the 1.6 and 1.28GPF flushing systems? If so, does anyone make a flapper specifically for the 1.28 Drake (perhaps Toto THU332S)?

I don't think that's a float, it is a tubing to prevent the chain from tangling.

The float isn't the issue. None of them have it anymore.

The original EcoDrake (i.e. not the II) does take a different flapper than the 1.6 Drake, but the one you put in will work fine, just use a tad more water.

There is a Korky flapper that's universally adjustable for all Totos now. It's the model 2023. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Korky-3-in-Toilet-Tank-Flapper-for-TOTO-2023BP/205213624 That will give you the precise 1.28 on the EcoDrake.

It's also known as the Toto THU499S. If you're using the site you linked to, the Toto-branded one is actually cheaper on there.

There's an older model Korky adjustable 3" flapper that will also adjust to the right flush on an Eco Drake. 3060BP

But the reality is that the thing you have in there will work perfectly. If you're really meticulous about having exactly 1.28gpf, you can pick up one of the other flappers.

Thanks for the info. I’m going to try the 2023 on another original EcoDrake that is due for a new flapper.
