Hi all,

We've been considering adding a small 24" laundry center to our basement.

We've identified the perfect spot for fitment (easy to add dryer vent, 240v already within reach, and enough clearance around the machines.

What we're not sure about is the washing machine drain. There is a floor drain within 3 feet of where the machine would be situated.

Would it be possible to simply run the washer drain hose into the floor drain? It's a 4" pipe, and I see roughly 4-5 inches of "air space" before seeing water.

The only challenge is really the drain, and the floor drain is the only option we'd have.

Id appreciate any ideas/suggestions if directing the drain hose to the floor drain is not allowed/recommended.
