Hello- I live in an area that has extremely hard water and I need to do something to eliminate the hard scale build up on all my fixtures etc. I’m guessing a water softener is what I need. The only drawback from what I’ve read is softened water isn’t good for my potted plants (indoor and outdoor).
I have two water hose bibs that I know are before the water feed for the inside of the house. My questions are:
Is it true softened water is bad for plants?
And are all the outdoor water bibs on the same water feed?
Thank you advance.

Yes.

Not always.

Do you have a septic tank or city sewer?
