It seems that I have a vacuum breaker that I cannot find anywhere online. I am not a plumber, but I have owned 4 rental properties, so I have replaced water heaters before. I have NO experience with this device, but it looks like it is leaking due to internal lime. We added a water softener a year ago, and I think the soft water has gotten thru the lime deposits.

Can I just turn off the supply, bleed the pressure, and use a channel locks to take that horizontal cylinder off? This is for my wife's nail salon, (open 7 days a week) so I don't wanna get into too much trouble that I can't get out of fast, but it looks like that comes apart and needs a new o-ring or something.

i don't recognize it but probably vacuum relief, used to prevent if wh is drained by an idiot.
Just take it out of the system. Small Watts products are never worth rebuilding

Looks similar to https://parts.rheem.com/product/RPD-SP623335

DISCO!! That is it! It says Watts on the side, but it is on a Rheem Marathon WH, and that looks EXACTLY like it. Thanks so much!
