I've been thinking about using (or trying anyway) a concealed shower head mounted above an outdoor water feature. Simply pump up the water to it and have it shoot down (4 - 5 feet high). Is this unrealistic? Do they need too much pressure to operate? Hell I'd pay the price (within reason) for a pump that would do the job.

I'd like to also stay away from a submersible pump if possible. what gph would I need? any hints on a pump to use maybe? -- thanks

yeah I looked at some HF stuff 800 watts -- ouch wonder what I could get by with bare minimum for a shower head or I suppose it may depend on the type of shower head ? I reall want to do it because I think it would be cool to see a fine shower spray spraying down to a pond and the sound would be great (sound is the main reason I want to do it)

A typical showerhead is flow limited to about 2.5gpm at 60psi - there are some that are limited to less than that. Depending on the height you need to raise the water would determine the ultimate pressure the pump would need. For rough purposes, every foot you need to raise the water, you need an extra 0.43#. But, the showerhead would work with less pressure and volume.

Hey, wait a minute.

This is awkward, but...
