Anyone have any comments. They are being carried by our local supply house. The guys I have spoken to, who have used them, are very pleased.

I know I know, new product with no track record. I always keep from being the first kid on the block with a new product. But, interested in any experiences.

Pew,

Have used them a couple of times. GREAT for repair and a quick tee install.

Not all things new are bad. Couldn't afford to do a house or large remodel with them. I like keeping a few couplings and tee's on the truck and find them to be trustworthy.

sharkbites

they are pretty nice for repair fittings

I had my misgiveings too, but found them to be ok

I keep a total assortment of them in my truck in both
3/4 and 1/2 with tees too...

with all the bastard sizes and pretty colors
you see now in the stupid PEX brands,

they really can get you out of a nasty mess quickly..

I had some old POLY pipe going into a water heater that
we adapted over to copper very quickly recently

also recently , in crawl space on a Sartuday morning,.
I had a hose bib needing
to be changed out but it was run in some shitty hardware
store PEX and I was able to change it back over to copper
very quickly without having to go to Lowes and hunt
down special stupid fittings ,

Thanks to the sharkbites, I made it home before noon, which sold me on them

as long as you are sure that you have drove the fitting onto
the pipe all the way on ,

I am pretty sure it will last
about as long as the crummey Pex stuff will.

Sharkbite vs. John Guest?

Is there much difference between the Sharkbite fittings and a John Guest fitting? It seems like installation is the same; I am just wondering if there are folks that have used both and have a preference.

I have a project where I need to attach a copper icemaker line to CPVC and a John Guest fitting seems to be the way to go.

dont know about those

I dont the first thing about that brand.....

But, for what it is worth,

I do know that ladies that find you handy

usually also find a way to get rid of you once

the nasty job is done too...l

If looks dont work, and being handy dont either.....

you got to have the one thing that they all love...MONEY....

hmmm... interesting theory MPM

BUT! Then where do I fit in??? I'm the handy tradesman, I bring in plenty of business therefore money is no problem... yet I would never let my husband slip away from me - now why, you may ask? oh my lord, it's LOVE!!! His unconditional and unwavering love and respect could never be quashed with such superficial things as looks, handiness, or money - lol... you always give me a good chuckle; oh yeah - and being funny goes a long way too, by the way ;)

soooo much to learn in this life of ours, hey? Just when you think you're starting to figure us out... LOL

An added note to the subject: even when some women provide everything that men would traditionally provide... we still need you! good men ROCK and a good woman will never give one up!

old fashioned values...

When I was younger and jsut out of
an all boys high school, I was only looking
at the superficial package, you might say...

Now that I am lots older, I have come to
realize that looks, and money are not all that important..

as long as we can carry on a good conversation
and she knows how to cook, I am a happy man....lol

never had any problems with them. used some installations at my cabin a couple years ago and still going great. like that they are certified for underground and concealed wall applications too... this may vary based on where you're located though. some people don't like that they only go up to 200 PSI though. if I remember correctly, sharkbiteplumbing.com has a link to a presentation on the fittings made by cashacme.
