-Currently a nat. gas hot water tank and furnace are being vented into an unlined brick chimney.
Other than a 1" required clearance from b-vent, are there any reasons a b-vent pipe can't be installed from the basement up through the second floor roof to by-pass the old brick chimney?
-Plus there's the concern of the furnace pressure switch not working because it is common vented. If the flu is plugged above the connecting point, the pressure switch may not sense the problem because it is connected to the hot water tank vent which is open directly above the h2o tank.
Thanks in Advance,
Bill
