Hi Gang,

I need to install a steam bath generator in a 3rd floor attic. It has a TP valve and a drain pan I need to run to the exterior. Because of a strange location and complex interior layout it's about 80' before I can daylight this line. I would rather just do it in PVC to save the owner the $$. I would probably run the first 5 feet or so in CU and then transition to 3/4 pvc. Does anyone know if this is problematic? (I'm under UPC)

Thanks

My suggestion is to use galvanized pipe. It's not too expensive and because it will rarely have water in it, it will last virtually forever. I doubt that an inspector would approve of PVC for the reason HJ offered.
