We have tried them for decades with no consistent, repeatable results. The problem with isolate cooling tower or boiler tests is that the incoming water chemistry changes to often from the source to get an accurate test data. I have had cooling towers scale up in a few weeks, then mysteriously descale within a few weeks due to minor fluctuation in the incoming water. A true test can only be done with mutiple systems running under controlled parameters.

My opinion on these devices is dont waste your money.

Thanks for the advice. I think you are right about the feed water. San Francisco averages around 60 and ranges from 8 to 140, so I can see what you mean about the fluctuations.

Golly what a nifty job they did of making what is basically a useless device look like it actually does something. Lots of flashing lights and shiny stuff too look at LOL
