Hi Terry,

I have a problem with my Toto Drake toilets. The is occurring on several of them in my 2-year old house. When I flush the toilet, the bowl empties and the waste goes out. The tank does not refill right away, in fact, it can take 45 seconds for the tank to start refilling. also, sometimes the bowl does not get emptied completely so I have to reflush once the water refills.

I am wondering if you or anyone else has some insights. Is this a toilet problem? Or could it be a problem with the sewer lines? The problem is most prevelant on the second floor in the master bathroom. The problem exists in the master bath and the powder room on the first floor.

Thanks, Doug

The fill valve may have some dirt caught in it. That valve is made by Korky. If you go to their site, they show how to take it apart (takes all of 30-seconds and no tools required). See if that makes any difference.

If the tank does not fill up to the proper level, you will not get the best flush, so that could all be related to the fill valve being sticky.

The only wear part in that is the seal cap...costs about $2 at Lowes. Take it apart, and see if that resolves it. If not, try a new seal cap.

Thanks for the advice. It worked for me. When I took the fill value apart, I didn't see any residue in the strainer. I put the value back together and my problem (delay in refilling) was resolved.

Thanks, Doug
