In the middle of a shower the water just stopped. The breaker was tripped and would not reset. After a few hours the breaker would reset. But still no water with the reset breaker. We have a pumptrol pressure switch and a Myers motor data pump that is located in our basement just above the pressure switch. The pressure gauge is sitting just above 0.

We have not had any problems with the well, but the water has cut out then you can hear the pump kick back in within seconds and the water starts again. This has done this for years and we assumed it was normal.

We are basic DIY'rs so any suggestions as to something you think would we can do to figure out the problem or if you have suggestions to what the problem is we would greatly appreciated.

Do we need to shut anything off before we unscrew the pressure switch from the small line?

If the breaker tripped and would not re-set or took a while to re-set you have an electrical short ( that burned through ) or the pump motor has crapped out.

Is the Myers box that is in the basement our pump or is the pump in the well?

Thanks for the info. We have called a pro to come in. Waiting for a return phone call now. I think we may just be in over our heads.
