Silver. Don't be worried about "Designed for toilets since 1994 (1.6 gpf or less)"

See the bottom of http://korky.com/ where it says "Optimizes all toilets, including Pre-1994 (standard refill - 20%)"

Yeah. The white-cap one is set to refill at 20 percent, which is what toilets like yours set their valve for when delivered from the factory. So white should work.

However, that design would refill the bowl and then let some extra water flow into the bowl and down the drain while the tank refilled. If you use the Silver Cap 528MP Maxperformance, for an extra buck or so, you have a valve that will let you optimize the refill so that the bowl is filled to the right level but not overfilled. (All overfill runs down the drain, so there is no benefit to you of overfilling.)

Terry uses the pro version of the silver cap one.

So if some Apron in the store tells you to get the white cap one, he is only half-right.
