Idea for covering gas heater vent hole in ceiling?

Hi. A gas water heater was replaced by an electric. There is a hole in the ceiling where the vent stack was. I'd rather not patch the hole in case a gas heater goes back. Anyone have an idea for a plastic or metal plate/disk that I could cover with instead? Been trolling the hardware stores and haven't come up with anything. Thank you.

There are more creative things, but you could drill a pilot hole into a piece of soft wood. Put a drywall screw or other suitable self-tapping screw through a cover plate and into the pilot hole. Position the plate and pull down a bit to keep the wood from spinning. Draw the plate up.
