I am thinking of installing these allen + roth multicolor cleft indoor/outdoor natural slate floor tile
They look fantastic.
But the first box I opened was pretty cruddy and crumbly material.
Lots of chips, soft spots and the side of the stone tile looked kinda like layer filo dough.
I was about to return the whole lot, but I noticed the second box had much better stuff.
These are cheap at the big blue box.

Has anyone used these slate tiles?

Don't buy unopened full boxes. They pack a lot of crap in them. Open each box and check each tile.

Slate is brittle. If it looks bad new, imagine how it will look after 20 years.

Return/exchange the bad tiles.

Hey, wait a minute.

This is awkward, but...
