Hey Guys, I watched a video showing the newer PerforMax valve filling slower than a base model Fluidmaster fill valve. This seems to be due to the Performax being advertised as being more quiet.

I would rather my fill valve be fast and loud. Is there a downside for removing the flow regulator. What is the purpose of the flow regulator.

I found an article on Fluidmaster's web site with instructions for how to remove this regulator but they don't say why you would want to do this.

Noise reduction is what that plug does.
The PreforMax is an excellent product, just better control of bowl refill timing and improved knob for float adjstment...in fact, they shouldn't even sell other versions.
