I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned it but the Delta 1700 series valve is no longer avaliable.

The new replacement valve is called a "Univerasl Monotor Rough-in Valve" and the part # is R1000UNBX

The Temp and Pressure Balancing portion is added each and seperately if wanted.

I believe the trim is the same.

1700 valves

Cass----

Are you saying that you cannot get the original
1700 valves anymore??? I heard somewhere that they
were makeing a Generic valve that would accomidate
everybodys needs.... so that the supply houses
would not have to keep so much stock on the shelves...

Are supply houses
not selling that particular model anymore, or are they
selling them off till they run out??

Sometimes they get stuck with a lot of discontinued
overstock that Delta wont take back or
allow them to sell anymore.....

I have picked up literally hundreds of goodies that way..

When they discontinued the Delta 1500 series faucet and
could not sell them anymore in the late 90s I ended up
getting about 250 if them for literally nothing..

I have a few dozen of them left..they are still GREAT faucets...

and they dont ever spoil... they got a long --long --shelf life......

I got to call my sales rep on Monday just for fun. and see what happens.

At tax time ---they hate to pay taxes on something that
they cant get rid of so they just about give them away if you just ask.

If you are one of the felows that pays your bills on time, you are the first in line that they offer it all to.

Cass--thank you for reminding me about this.

The 1400 and 1700 as separate lines are gone. The new one incorporates both into one body with different inserts. The old parts do not fit the new valves, but they are still available for repairs.

hj and delta specs......

HJ

I am wondering how good this new valve will be.....

have you seen any specs on it yet???

hopefully it will be of the same quality as the predeccessors..

they have never made any big mistakes in design yet....

the 1300 and 1400 is basically cheap tract home junk, but works ......

though I think they made a mistake getting
rid of the 1500 series.....that is a great valve.....

so was their old 600 series...

but everything they make has been of good quality.......

again....I wlll have to ask my rep about the changes
