Boiler temperature gauge

My aquastat high setting is set at 190 degrees but my boiler temperature gauge only reads 160 degrees. Should there be that much of a difference?

Boiler gauges are notoriously inaccurate. Especially after a few years. If the house heats, forget about it.

Depending on where the thermometer is installed it may not be reading the water temperature correctly.
