I'm replacing a bathroom faucet. I think the original was a Delta from 2004. I'm replacing it with a Moen.

The sink is compact as it's in a 1/2 bath. The sink flange seems to have a gasket built into the cultured marble.

As a result, the Moen supplied flange doesn't fit through the opening. Neither does an old Delta flange that I had laying around.

Pictures are attached. You can see the built-in gasket in the photo. The old flange is also pictured.

Do I need a smaller flange? Or cut the built in gasket?

Thank you.
