My home was roughed in during construction with a toilet drain, a 2" drain stubbed up behind the toilet drain, 1 1/2" tub drain stub, and a 2" drain stub for the washer.
At close, they installed a sink on the 2" drain behind the toilet, with a 1 1/2" vent. They also installed the washer drain line with a 1 1/2" vent. These join below the first floor, then run up to the roof.
I am unsure how or if the toilet and bath tub lines were vented during construction. The toilet is at least 12 ft from the main stack.
I want to install a bathtub and toilet, and ensure they are vented properly. I would like to replace the 1 1/2" vent behind the toilet with a 2" vent and replace the rest fo the 1 1/2" vent with 2" all the way to the roof. However, the house is two story, so I cannot get to the middle baseplate to enlarge the hole. It is large enough for a 2" pipe, but not the coupling.
Can I use an internal pvc coupling on a vent line?
