Cartridge ID Help and Noise Question (after a "fix")

Hi all, So I had a plumber/handyman (from Angie's List - their Angi's Plumbing option, as they had the availability) come out to investigate the continual drip from the shower outlet pipe. The good news is he did manage to fix it... but he left me with another issue he blamed on "air in the...

Leaky Shower head - Faucets to blame?

Ok - so I'm an idiot... had a plumber here and watched them... there is a small allen wrench hole on the inside part of the faucet near the handle... I was looking for it more at the base of the ball... LOL.

Leaky Shower head - Faucets to blame?

Here are some images of the faucet... top view, bottom view, and side view... I don't see any screw/Allen wrench holes... so maybe the cover (or whatever the proper term for the handle piece is) can be gently pried off? It feels like that may have happened before as one of the fixtures does have...

Leaky Shower head - Faucets to blame?

Thanks Jeff! I've watched some videos, and it doesn't look like too bad a job... but I'm still stuck at the beginning... lol. The videos all show faucets/fixtures that come off with an Allen wrench, but there doesn't seem to be any screws/wrench slots on the fixture.. (or are "dial" faucets with...

Leaky Shower head - Faucets to blame?

Thanks for the thoughts, and sorry for the delay in responding. I had some family issues that required going out of town... anyway, now that I'm back, the leak seems worse - almost one drip a second now... so definitely will be calling someone to replace the cartridges (and perhaps more, if needed).

    Terry Love- cancer update

So sorry to hear of this... I found this site a while ago, and the group/information was fantastic... but haven't had a need (or plumbing issues) since then. So sorry to hear of Terry's diagnosis/prognosis... prayers and condolences to Terry and his family.

Leaky Shower head - Faucets to blame?

Hi, I've noticed the shower head in my master bath has been dripping for a while, including long after the shower is turned off. I had the springs in the faucets replaced, but that only resolved the problem for a couple months. I'd like to try to figure the cause before the drips become a leak...

    Flush Valve Issue?

Hey Reach, Yes, the water is going into the overflow assembly now. I had done some research on Youtube, and saw a similar situation with the fix of "just turning a screw"... but I think that made the situation worse. Before the water was maybe dribbling into the overflow. Now it is rushing, and...

    Flush Valve Issue?

Hi, I have a 2008 Gerber 1.6gpf toilet (model unknown) that recently started to continue to run after flushing. My first thought was to replace the flapper, so I got a Korky Adjustable Ultra Water Saver Universal 2" flapper (Korky Part 100) and installed it. Installation included draining the...

Plumbing Supply Store vs. Home Centers vs. Online

Hi, As I continue my search, I'm trying to focus more on pricing and quality. I'm sure I'm looking at the Toto EcoDrake (CST743 or CST744). What I've noticed is the pricing from Supply Stores/Official Toto retailers (based on the "find a showroom" option on their website) seems to be a...

    New Toilet Paralysis by Analysis

Many Thanks wjcandee - your post was a great help. Between that (and taking some time to really surf through Toto's site) - my mind has changed again - and is leaning toward the EcoDrake - it is WaterSense, Standard Height (good for my - as she claims - vertically challenged wife), round bowl -...

    New Toilet Paralysis by Analysis

Thank y'all for the thoughts and opinions. I'm leaning towards the Drake 1.6, and then the Entrada. Dropping the Kohler as Toto does have a great reputation.

    New Toilet Paralysis by Analysis

Hi all, I currently have a 15 year old AS 1.6 GPF low consumption toilet (unsure of the model) that is driving me nuts and I'm looking to replace. Basically it clogs often, and the flush cycle takes 15 seconds just to clear the bowl - so I'm looking for something with a more reliable, faster...
