Can anyone tell me what this tube/pipe in my sump pump pit is please?

So, since my sump pump isn't plastic I cannot drain my softener into it (rust). However, there's a weird pipe that (maybe an overflow drain or something?) I have no idea what is there for. If I could drain my softener into this until I find something better that'd be pretty great. Here's a far away and close up picture:

Edit: nevermind, this appears to be the weeping tile drain and it wont work.
