This system is not cooling the way it supposed to cool. It is not getting to the desired temp or just keeps running for a long time when it is really hot.

The system will only turn off after the sun has come down (evenings) or a night.

The system does not have a TXV valve so I tested it via superheat.

- wet bulb temp was around: 63.4
- out door temp was around: 82.4

According to the superheat charging chart, this will be a target super heat of 13.

Then I measured the actual suction line temp and compared it with the saturated temp and this was the outcome:

The actual suction line temp was around: 44.8
The saturated temp was around: 44

The superheat charging chart that I used says the following:

Actual suction line temp - Saturated temp = actual superheat

- If the actual superheat is too high, then add refrigerant
- If the actual superheat is too low, then recover regrigerant

So I guess in this scenario, it needs refrigerant right?

Tested the system via sub-cooling to see what kind of results I will get.

The high pressure gauge was reading around 92 saturated temp and the thermometer reading on the high side was around 93.2 These readings will give around around 1.3 subcooling. Please see picture link below.

Return temp was around: 72f
Supply temp was around: 57f

Wet Bulb temp was around: 65.6f

But where did all the refrigerant go? Don’t be surprised that the A coil is leaking. If there is s leak it’s on the low pressure side somewhere.

Hey, wait a minute.
