Will a timed water softener try to regenerate if you have the bypass valve ON?

Hello all. Had a quick question about the bypass situation I have.

I have an old school 3 way bypass set up + the built in bypass values for the whole house filter and water softener.

Hard water comes in and goes through the whole house filter, then goes into the softener and then leaves the softener to the house.

If I turn the red valves on the whole house filter and the red valves on the softener so that both are in BYPASS mode, will the softener try to regen when it's set to regen or does it know its in bypass mode and will NOT try to regen?

I have a Clack WS1 and ONE whole house filter installed.

Thank you, appreciate the help.

It will try, and it will think it succeded. If that is not what you want, how about unplugging?
