I want to replace a 30" fiberglass tub with a 32" Vickrell, but wonder if there is enough slop in the installation's slab floor to do this? We talking jackhammer here?

On normal installations the tub is on top of the slab! Usually only the floor and/or subfloor would need to be trimmed to accomadate a wider tub.

Depending on how the trap is in the floor you might have to break the concrete to get it in the right place. Sometimes it is just burried in sand.
