Hi all,

I have a water softener with a Katalox Lite tank upstream to remove the 2.86ppm iron we have in our local water supply. The Fleck 2510SXT AIO head on the Katalox Lite tank is going out on me, so I will have to remove it and send it off for a rebuild. My question is, which setting(s) can I change on the softener (if any) to help mitigate as much of the iron as possible until I get the head back and the Katalox tank back in service? Any help on this is greatly appreciated!

- Cris

Because each 1ppm iron is equivalent to ~5 gpg hardness capacity consumption, increase the softener's hardness setting by an additional 15 gpg to compensate for almost 3 ppm iron. Also, increase the softener's reserve quantity since the reserve gallons will need to be based on the higher hardness quantity.
