Hi, I am having the darnedest time finding just the replacement gasket for a typical 1 " screw-in water heater element. I have a situation where I need to pull out a good element and put it back in. And since it is the same element, there is no new gasket to go with it. I can't seem to find a source of gaskets. Do you guys have any ideas? Thank you.

If in the process of removing the element you damage the gasket, having a spare is a good idea. They are sold online.

I definitely need extras. There is some damage around the tank threads that mess with gaskets. The ones I found on line were the silicone ones that cant take the extra tightness I need to apply due to the damage and other reasons. The only ones that work are the black (polypropalene?) ones that come with good quality elements.
