I’m helping a neighbor refill his up flow PH neutralizer and seem to have a problem.

This is a non backwashing 10 x 54 tank without a valve. Just a bypass.

He purchase some calcite which is very fine, and we refilled without a problem, until we ran the water. Is didn’t take long until the water pressure lowered and turned to a trickle.

When bypassing the PH tank the pressure eventually recovers.

Thinking that some of the fine media blew into the water softener which is next in line. Backwashing that now.

Can someone tell me the correct media to use for this up flow tank?

The product we just used was called Puri-Cal

Thanks

Update - doing a regen on the Softener did the job and there is now clean water with plenty of pressure running through the house.

At this point I'm just looking for the correct media. Not urgent as I can contact one of the online softener outfits for a recommendation. But if anyone has some info please chime in.

The raw water PH is 6.65

Thanks
