I purchased and installed an orbit Isolation Valve and Timer Combo http://www.homedepot.com/p/Orbit-Battery-Operated-Timer-with-Valve-57860/202694591

Everything was working fine for a few days. Then yesterday, the sprinklers never turned off.

This is what I tried.

1. Turn of the controller (place in off postion). Nothing.
2. Start a manual watering (through the controller) and turn it off. Nothing
3. Purchased and installed new solenoid. and Did steps 1 & 2. Nothing

Does this tell me the main housing is bad then and not the solenoid?

Thanks!

Ed

Hi Ed,

Are you running on mains water or tank water?

If you're on tank water you may find that (if there isn't a filter pre that combo timer) there is some debris blocking that port in the solenoid from closing and it will just continue to keep running. Failing that it possibly may be the diaphragm has become stuck inside the housing (never happened to me before but nonetheless) or the valve itself could be faulty.. if you've tried turning the solenoid to the on/off position and still have no luck it may be worth sending it back under warranty.

Thanks Ed
