Had a piece of a 1 1/2" ABS vent stack break off from heavy snow. Was a fairly clean break and thinking I can just use ABS cement and a Fernco to repair the break, but will need to reseal around the boot and vent and not sure which product to use.

Also wondering if anyone can recommend a tope of snow diverter that I can put around the vent to prevent this from happening again in the future? All that's up there right now on the roof is a type of accordion-looking boot. I have three vent stacks and would like to replace the crappy accordion boots because the heavy snow has compressed the boots.

Thanks.

If you have actual pipe stubbed up, vent shields. Replacing roof jacks with maybe all metal then use vent shield over a caulked bead on the pipe to flashing.

If you pull the boot you could use a coupling and glue another piece of pipe on and the coupling would be below the boot. I've used Lexel products and "Through the Roof" sealer, the name says it all.
