What kind of tile is this and best way to clean the rust?

Is this slate or travertine?

And then I have a rust stain coming out of one of the tiles, what would be the best way to clean this without damaging?

Finally, if I am able to clean the rust, is there a "seal" I could put on it to prevent future?
