A well on my property is 300 feet deep in 8 inch pipe. It's static water level sits almost at the top of the pipe. I thought I had a water gold mine, but after setting a pump to 180 feet and firing it up, I now realize that I haven't struck gold yet.
It looks like my recharge is a gallon a minute. I'm in an area where wells yield from 7-10 gpm to 30 gpm with wells averaging 75-125 feet deep. (There are a few wells that have a really low gpm although they are fairly shallow.)
I'm using the water to pump to a pond. Will never use it for drinking water. But because it's for a pond, I need it to not be such a pathetic recharge.
All that being said--- Is there any value to extending it down to 290 feet? Is there an expectation that I should gain more gpm or would it just be that I'll have access to the whole column of 300 feet of static water?
