Hello,

I have a well that is about 80 feet deep. The pump is a 1 hp with 2 pipes 1.25 and 1. Yesterday noticed the pump did not shut off after 2 minutes. So when i looked at the pressure gage it was staying at about 39 lbs and was not shutting off. The switch is a 30/50. Note that we replaced the foot valve about a month ago. It holds the pressure just is not building over 39 lbs.

Could it be clogged at the ejector at the bottom of the Well? Does the ejortor need to match the specific pump or are residential ejectors close enough to each other?

Any help would be great.

Yes the size of the ejector at the bottom of the well needs to match the pump size. It could be the nozzle in the ejector is clogged. You might also try adjusting the backpressure valve. If it is not holding enough backpressure the ejector cannot work.
