Hi, I have a 90' deep well, 4" diameter, submersible pump at 20+-'. I keep getting sand in my main filter. I do live in a coastal area. I spoke with the well company and they wanted to install a screen for the tune of $600. The bottom of the well was supposedly sealed by local well guy for $200. Is there a screen I can push down past the pump level to resolve this ? Or a screen that attaches to the bottom of the pump? I have not looked at the bottom of the pump, but would this work: http://www.groundwatersupply.net/screencasing.html ?

Adding a screen into your well for $600 seems cheap. I am neither a pro nor amateur well person. Stopping the sand before it hits your pump sounds nice to me.

For above ground after your pressure switch and before you main filter, you could consider adding a TwistIIClean filter. http://www.twistiiclean.com/

That company has other well-respected products for sand: http://www.lakos.com/groundwater.htm Their Sub-K will leave the sand in the well where it could fill up with time.

I was given a cost of $1500 for a new well using my existing pump/tank, tec. This was just adding a internal additional screen. Should be available from local supplier
