“Contractor” messed up tile layout...had to remove a row of tiles...instead of scraping thin set off the wall he tore it up with an angle grinder. He’s planning to paint red guard again in the area. I’m worried it won’t be a continuous membrane. Is this a problem?
Thanks
Michelle

FWIW, most shower walls are not waterproof. The pan must be. dj2 has it right, though. It is harder than many think to get the designed thickness of RedGard on the wall. It needs to be applied between the min/max wet thickness, and extra coats are not helpful, either. A wet film thickness gauge is a good idea to spot check during installation. They’re cheap, but you still need to know how to use it!
