I think my neutralizer (old) isn't properly backwashing. From the research I've done the bed should raise during backwash. Well there's no sound, bubbling, movement, or bed raising during the backwash cycle. The timer will then advance to the flush and that seemingly works properly. I've also noticed decreased water pressure around the house and the neutralizer seems to be the culprit. When in bypass multiple fixtures can be used at once without pressure drop.
I've searched google/youtube for what to do to correct this issue, but there isn't a lot of information, certainly not for the old system I have. I would much rather repair than replace.
I've replaced calcite before, so not afraid to pop the thing open. To fix the bypass, and improve water pressure I've seen that I could try agitating the bed. Is it as simple as just shoving shoving something in there and moving it around, like a broom stick? Like I said I struggled to find info on how this is accomplished. Also are there filters that need to be replaced, something about a venturi? Once again the info is sparse and especially around a model as old as mine.
Thanks for any input.
